Pat McMullen 54, Class of 1962, former State Senator from the 40th district (Whatcom and Skagit counties) died after a seven year battle with cancer Nov. 12, 1999, in Mount Vernon, WA. He graduated from the University of Washington Law School, and was elected Skagit County prosecutorom 1974. He was elected to the state House of Representatives in 1982, and appointed to the State Senate in 1987.

Pat was born to a Whidbey Island farm family Feb. 21, 1945. The family moved to the Forks area, then to Seattle to work in the restaurant business. After high school graduation, he spent the next seven years at the University fo Washington, eventually receiving his law degree. He married right out of high school and worked a variety of jobs as he put himself through college. He was the father of three children. He is survied by his wife Bobbi, his children and grandchildren.
