January 6, 1944 ~ January 9, 2015. Gene was born in Seattle to Inga and Lester Lander. He is survived by his wife, Rosalee; his 98-year-old mother, Inga Lander Rogers; sister Sharon Homan (Dave); nephew Philip Homan (Chancey); niece Lydia Mears (Terry) and their children, Nathan and Gabrielle. Gene was a gentle man who loved life, God, his friends and family, his faithful dog, Chester, and cars- especially Buicks. He was deeply loved for his sweet nature, generosity and humor. As a young man, her served his country in the Naval Reserve and returned to Seattle to work as a pressman at The Seattle Times. He was always the initiator of fun and adventure- a kid at heart. He is dearly missed and loved. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2-5 p.m. at Mercy Seat Christian Fellowship, 5110 196th St SW in Lynnwood in the Glen Haven building.
