In Memory

Karen Kristine Kreger (Sweet)

Karen Kristine Kreger (Sweet)

On Sunday, September 10th, we lost Karen to her fight with pancreatic cancer. She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She lived a full, happy, and wonderful life filled with love, joy, and lots of traveling around the world. Karen brought light, laughter, compassion, and love to everyone who knew her. She might not have been the best at sending out Christmas cards each year, but she held dear all her friends and family.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mike, who stayed by her side and took care of her at home until her fight with pancreatic cancer was done. Her daughter Trisha and her husband Brad, who live in Beulah, Colorado. Her son Michael, wife Colette, and her three precious grandchildren Morgan, Peter, and Dylan. And her sister Susan, whom she spent hours on the phone with almost daily.

Karen’s ashes will be interred at Acacia Memorial Park where her grandparents and parents are. We will be respecting her wishes for no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center or EvergreenHealth Home Care Services.

I have known Karen since we were 5 years old.  Walked to school every day....then rode the bus to Junior and Senior High.  We were in Brownies and Girl Scouts with her mom as our leader!  So many wonderful memories and our families have remained friends all this time.  Her husband Mike was an amazing caregiver for Karen   Her children and grandchildren children were the light of her life.  She will be missed by all of us!  Rest in peace, my friend!
