Mary Kay Scheldt (Wright)

Mary Kay Scheldt February 24, 1944 -October 31, 2020 Age 76 to a sudden cardiac arrest.

After Lincoln High she attended U of W where she studied art. As an artistic soul he lived her life with creative zeal. She enjoyed painting watercolors and creating collage. Her handwriting should be a typeface or it's own: a style of writing uniquely her own and creatively elegant. She had a restaurant called the Post Alley Cafe in Pioneer Square around the 1970's early 1980's. Although her restaurant was short-lived, her passion for food, fresh ingredients, cooking and hospitality continued throughout her entire life. She embraced the LGBTQ community and believed that love is love. She also believed Black Lives Matter, and was a strong feminist. She worked for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research and was a caretaker for a friend dying from AIDS. She loved to travel and was a fabulous friend and neighbor. She cherished her time with friends. Mary Kaye was a fabulous freind and neighbor. She cherished her time with friends, lady weekend away, She loved helping people. Sending Mary Kaye love and light to everyone. A private service for family will be held.
