On Sunday 10/16/2022, Dave Charles Knien lost his battle with a swift-moving and devastating pancreatic cancer. He died surrounded by family and with his beloved wife Katie by his side. His love for his family has always been unbounded. He will be sorely missed by us all. Dave was born January 26th, 1944 to his mother Marie Brosseau Knien, and father Charles Sellers, who tragically died 6 weeks before Dave was born. Marie later married Msgt. Roald Knien, who adopted David when he was 10. The family moved to Germany for 2 years where Roald was stationed in the Army. They settled in Seattle where Dave attended Lincoln High School, and met his future wife and love of his life, Katie Yeager ‘62, graduating in 1962. After serving in the Army in South Africa, he married Katie in 1966. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, which led him to a bright and successful career in Software Engineering, working for the Boeing Corporation until his retirement in 2008. He did find he had a special talent as a Square Dance Caller. He loved calling and square dancing with Katie and became highly acclaimed calling dances for over 25 years throughout Western.

Sorry about having the obit missing. I am trying to fix the problem. I have reposted his obituary.  Linda Ungar Strock.
