Stephen "Steve" Harrison Garling VIEW PROFILE

Stephen Steve Harrison GarlingStephen Harrison GARLING was born on March 7, 1944 and passed away on August 27, 2020 and is under the care of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.

After Lincoln High, Steve joined the Marines during the Viet Nam war. He flew a helicopter and was shot down. He was injured and sent to the Guam hospital for 6 months. This is where met his future wife, Bennett. They lived in Sequim and he studied for the State Patrol. Later in life, he enjoyed the solitude of hauling for a logging company.
His oldest daughter. Pam has made a career in the Navy. Steve was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease and spent his last years living with Pam and her family in Marysville. Steve and his sister, Janis was able to visit with his mother before she passed three years ago at the age of 93.
Steve passed from a massive heart attack while his daughter was at sea. He will be sorely missed by his family. Notes provided by his sister Janis Garling Keene'60.
