Richard "Rick" Doan On December 15, 2017, at the age of 73, Rick Doan passed away peacefully in his home in Lake Stevens, WA. When asked to describe him in one word, his best friend of 45 years, Mike Chamberlain said, "giving." Born August 15, 1944, Rick grew up in the Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle, with his older brother, Terry.He graduated from Lincoln class of '62. He met his wife, Janet, in college and together they built a life in Lake Stevens; Janet as a teacher and Rick working through retirement for the City of Marysville Water Department. Together they raised two children, Peter and Noelle, and were avid travelers. He loved tropical settings, and in part by this influence his daughter, Noelle ultimately settled in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, where she is raising her four daughters, Coral Ann, Marina, Nerissa and Sandy. Rick was caring and compassionate throughout his entire life, often helping his friends in need by opening his home to them, or providing them work. A celebration of life will be hosted in June.
