Alan William Anshutz

Keve Anshutz call to inform me that Alan had passed away Sept. 18th, 2013 from complications developing from his MS. After graduation Al joined the US Air Force and spent 5 1/2 years active and some in reserve time. During his active tour he trained in aviation electronics.  He was stationed in Alaka with the 4158th Combat Support Group and the 46th Communications Squadron.  Before leaving active duty he received additional training for inertial naviagation electronics.

After his tour of duty he started work at Boeing in Renton working on aircraft electronics installation. When the economy went sour in the 70's he was transferred to the Kent Space center where he worked on the camera electronic's of the Mariner Venus/Mercury satellite. But his real interest was in aircraft, so he transferred to Everett to work on the 747 program.  Working his way up he became a Flight Analyst and enjoyed first flights analyzing systems function and performance, as well as fixing electronics in flight. He also worked in the AOG (Airplane On Ground) division becoming a world wide traveler analyzing and fixing grounded customer aircraft.

He was selected for the 777design team. A feather in his cap, he was the first flight analyst included in the design of an aricraft at Boeing.

Alan's working and flying on aircraft was the love of his life. His surving brother Keve says "look to the sky and give him a wave because he is home".
